- Article provides a comparative analysis of the practice of the human rights treaty bodies - the Human Rights Committee and the Committee against Torture in cases related to expulsion. These UN treaty bodies effectively monitor compliance by States with the principle of "non-refoulement". The article analyzes the legal grounds, opportunities, mechanisms and effectiveness of human rights protection by filing complaints to these Committees, and notes similarities and differences in their practice.

- The problems that have arisen under consideration are connected both with a significant reduction in international procedures for the legal protection of human rights of persons subject to extradition from the Russian Federation, and with the increased non-alternative role of domestic government bodies, whose competence, among other things, includes supervision over the observance of human rights.

- Q. Which lawyer is able to handle false accusations and international travel issues?
- A: We can prepare a request to The Commission for the Control of INTERPOL’s files (the Commission, or the CCF) about the presence of information in the Interpol information system regarding you, as well as about the deletion of information from their system.
- Q. Hello, I have a question regarding an incomplete divorce, it appears the subjects are separated but says property is not
- A: In this matter, it is also necessary to take into account the location of the property. As a general rule, it is possible to apply to the court for the division of the property of former spouses only within the statute of limitations, which may differ depending on the jurisdiction, but is usually 3 years. After this period, the jointly acquired property of the former spouses, registered in the name of one of them, may lose its legal status as joint property. In this case, a simpler option may be for the former spouse to prepare a will for you or your daughter.
- Q. I recently got divorced in Costa Rica. I live in the United States and hired a lawyer in Costa Rica to represent me.
- A: Both the U.S. and Costa Rica are signatories of the 1961 Hague Convention which abolished the requirement that U.S. consular officers authenticate Costa Rican civil documents for use in the United States. The Convention became effective in Costa Rica in 2011.
The Government of Costa Rica can place an apostille stamp on the Costa Rican civil document (such birth certificates, marriage certificates, divorce decrees, and documents executed by Costa Rican schools, universities or Notary Publics) should be done at The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores y Culto de Costa Rica) located in avenue 7-9, street 11-13 San José, contact number (506) 2223-7555.
