Family and Community
Since 1996, I have been married to Alexandra, and I am an uncle to 18 nephews and nieces. I am also a devoted supporter of Armagh GAA—three roles of which I am immensely proud. Family is central to my identity, and although Alexandra and I do not have children, my nephews and nieces frequently affirm that I am their favorite uncle, despite having four brothers and one sister.
I grew up in a tight-knit community where I met my wife just 30 seconds from my house. Alexandra and I first met while I served as an altar boy for ten years at our local Dominican Church.
Early Inspiration and Career
Work has been a fundamental part of my life from a young age. My father, a professional dog trainer, instilled in me a robust work ethic that continues to influence me. By the age of eight, I was determined to become a solicitor, inspired by the reruns of Perry Mason featuring the late Raymond Burr. The concept of justice and the role of the solicitor fascinated me.
At 22, I achieved my dream by qualifying as a solicitor and starting my own law firm in 1995. Initially, I ran a general practice covering all areas of law, but in 1997, I discovered my true calling in personal injury law and medical negligence cases. Over the years, I have mentored six apprentice solicitors, all of whom are still successfully practicing law—a point of pride for me.
Passion for Justice
People often ask why I continue to practice law after so many years. The answer is straightforward: I am passionate about fighting for justice. I believe in every client’s case, and many of my clients lack the financial resources to pursue justice on their own. I finance these cases out of a deep-seated commitment to correct injustices and ensure that justice prevails.
My father, now in his late 80s, still works seven days a week, and the work ethic he taught me continues to drive me. This dedication to diligence and justice forms the cornerstone of my practice.
