Allyson Kitchel
Kitchel Injury Law
Litigating in the Washington, DC area since 2004, Allyson has an insider’s knowledge of how corporations defend personal injury lawsuits. She started her career working directly for a trial judge in the District of Columbia, gaining first-hand insight into how judges think. When her spouse was seriously injured in a bike crash, she discovered the comfort a great lawyer brings in a time of crisis. Today, her practice is devoted to serving victims of negligence, making them feel seen and heard at some of the most difficult times in their lives.
Allyson is an accomplished trial lawyer with nearly two decades of personal injury experience. She helps victims of careless drivers and careless doctors get the compensation they deserve so they can recover and move forward with life.
Since Allyson began her career defending drivers and doctors, she has a unique advantage in pursuing justice for her clients. Her specialized background allows her to expertly advise clients regarding what they are legally entitled to after an accident. She believes a client’s medical leave, paid-time-off, and health insurance should benefit THEM—not allow extra profit for a reckless driver’s insurance company.
Allyson has enjoyed notable success settling and trying cases in DC, Maryland, and Virginia. She has been recognized in the District of Columbia as a “Superlawyer Rising Star” and her peers have rated her AV PREEMINENT, Martindale-Hubble’s highest rating. Her trial experience, knowledge of the law, and dogged determination enable her to get excellent results for her clients.
Allyson lives in Ward 6, DC with her husband and three boys. When she isn’t practicing law, you can probably find her biking around the neighborhood, driving her kids to soccer practice, or volunteering at their school or church.

- For 15 years, I practiced as a defense attorney, representing insurers in auto accident and medical malpractice cases. I began my career as a law clerk in DC Superior Court before working for several defense firms and later serving as in-house counsel. While these roles provided valuable experience, they lacked the flexibility to balance my career and family. The turning point came with the loss of my father. His passing forced me to reevaluate my path. With the resources he left me, I had a choice: continue in a role that no longer aligned with my values or build something meaningful. I chose the latter. In 2019, I founded Kitchel Injury Law to advocate for the injured, leveraging my deep understanding of defense tactics to secure justice for my clients. Today, my firm is dedicated to providing compassionate, strategic representation, ensuring injury victims receive the support they deserve.
