After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, Mr. Blehm earned his Bachelor Degree in Political Science and Spanish from Colorado State University. During college, Mr. Blehm trained at the Colorado Law Enforcement Training Academy and worked as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff for the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Department in Pueblo, Colorado. Mike graduated from Antioch College in 1977 and from the University of North Carolina Law School, with honors, in 1980. At the law school he was selected as the James O. Bowman Scholar, served on the Law Review, and received the Order of the Coif Award for Legal Writing. Before entering private practice, he was a law clerk to the Honorable J. Dickson Phillips of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and worked as a litigation attorney in the Appellate Court Branch of the Enforcement Division of the National Labor Relations Board in Washington.
