He was born and raised in New York City, and developed a desire to attend law school after spending two years as a guardian ad litem to foster children in Austin, Texas. Byron David graduated with honors and received his juris doctor degree from the University of South Carolina. Before going to law school, Byron was the captain of a deep sea fishing boat operating off the Carolina coast.

Byron and his wife live in Horry County and are very involved in the community in Conway and Myrtle Beach. They founded and created the Davids' Diabetes Scholarship, awarding scholarship funds to local juvenile diabetics going to college.

After attending Camden Military Academy (Camden, SC), and Lyman Ward Military Academy (Camp Hill, AL), David attended Valdosta State University where he studied philosophy, applied ethics, and criminal justice.

David’s life-long dream was to become an attorney. He attended and graduated from the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law (Michigan). During this time, David interned for the 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office in Horry County, South Carolina.
