Stephanie’s practice focuses on medical and legal malpractice claims, as well as medical and legal malpractice appeals. Her experience in both trial court litigation and appellate work has culminated in a unique skill set. At the trial court level, she anticipates appellate needs, creating a strong appellate record and adequately preserving issues, and at the appellate level, she appreciates the practical effect of appellate litigation on continued trial court proceedings and client lives.
Stephanie has successfully handled cases in the Michigan trial courts, Court of Appeals and the Michigan Supreme Court. Stephanie has also represented clients who have an interest in the law created by other cases, appearing as Amicus Counsel in high-profile cases.
Stephanie honed her research and writing skills during her tenure as a law clerk for Judges Buth and Redford in the 17th Circuit Court and Judge Baillargeon in the 48th Circuit Court. Stephanie has received many accolades in her career, including being listed as a “Rising Star” in Michigan Super Lawyers from 2013 to 2016 and as finalist for Grand Rapids Business Journal’s Newsmaker of the Year – Law Category.
