Prior to joining Gordon, Feinblatt, Robert was a trial attorney for the Federal Aviation Administration Office of Chief Counsel from 1973 to 1974 where he handled medical/legal cases, and for the Department of Justice, Civil Division, Torts Section as a trial attorney from 1974 to 1976, where he handled air crash cases. At the Justice Department, he received merit awards each year for his success as a trial attorney defending the United States in complex, wrongful death cases involving up to 125 fatalities from a single air crash accident. Thereafter, Robert was Counsel to The Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company of Maryland where he handled personal injury defense litigation.
