Laura Harrington
Laura has been practicing law since 1999. She opened her own practice in 2000. Laura concentrates her practice in the areas of serious personal injury, medical malpractice, legal malpractice and employment issues including discrimination claims and contract negotiations. Laura is admitted to the bar in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. She has tried numerous cases in federal and state court in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Before attending law school, Laura was a Registered Nurse, working in oncology, surgical trauma and critical care. She served as Head Nurse at the Philadelphia Veterans’ Affairs Medical Center from 1990-1993 and, most recently, worked in the Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Department at Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket, RI. Laura still maintains her license as a Registered Nurse. Her background and experience as a nurse complement her legal experience not only in personal injury and malpractice cases, but throughout her entire practice. In addition to her legal practice, Laura has volunteered with the Women’s Mentoring Program at the Rhode Island Adult Correctional Institute and with the Office of the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA). She regularly lectures nurse practitioner students at the University of Rhode Island on legal issues related to their practice.
