Thought Kitchen
I am a curious entrepreneur and compassionate disruptor who thrives on bringing people, resources, processes, and ideas together to simplify our everyday lives. I pursued my undergraduate studies in Organizational Leadership and Supervision at Purdue University, where I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in May 1999. After gaining two years of experience in manufacturing and higher education, I decided to further my education in law and was admitted to Indiana University McKinney School of Law. I received my Doctor of Jurisprudence degree in May 2005 and obtained my license to practice law in October of the same year. Throughout the four-year part-time evening program, I continued to work full-time in various capacities including higher education, a mid-size law firm, and the Indiana Senate.
Over the next fifteen years, my career spanned private law practice and roles within state and local government. In the early 2010s, I ventured into entrepreneurship by opening a needle arts shop in my hometown of Greenwood. I eventually sold the business to a partner when I resumed full-time service in state government.
I further expanded my academic horizons by completing a Master of Arts in Mindfulness Studies at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, earning the degree in September 2021. Around the same time, I co-founded Thought Kitchen with Lesley Crane, my professional partner for over ten years.
I currently reside just outside Mooresville, Indiana, surrounded by trees, with my husband, Mark, and our numerous cats. Mark and I are the proud parents of our adult son, Patrick.
