Jason Javaheri
Co-founder & Managing Attorney at J&Y Law
I’m the Co-Founder and Co-CEO of J&Y Law and Abogados Campeones, the Spanish-language division of our firm in Los Angeles. I was born and raised in LA, earned my degree from UCLA, and continued my education at Loyola Law School. Even before becoming a personal injury attorney, I was committed to assisting individuals who had suffered serious injuries, and that commitment laid the groundwork for my career.
After completing law school, I began practicing civil litigation with a focus on personal injury. Eventually, I teamed up with my business partner, Yosi Yahoudai, to establish J&Y Law. Together, we created a California-based law firm dedicated to standing up for injury victims and ensuring they are not overpowered by insurance companies or large corporations.
I work on a wide range of personal injury cases, including those involving catastrophic injuries and wrongful death. My main goals are straightforward: helping clients heal, safeguarding their rights, and working hard to maximize the value of each case within the framework of California law.
When I’m not in the office, I dedicate time to the community through Fix’n Fidos, a nonprofit organization focused on animal welfare that I support. Giving back, whether through my legal work or community involvement, is an essential part of my life.

- Q: How long have you (Jason Javaheri) been practicing personal injury law?
- A: I’ve been practicing personal injury law for over two decades. As a California injury attorney and co-founder of J&Y Law, I’ve dedicated my entire career to helping people who’ve been hurt due to someone else’s negligence. I’ve handled thousands of cases across California, from car crashes on the 405 to serious pedestrian injuries in downtown LA. This is all we do. Every case we take on is personal, and our team puts in the time, the strategy, and the heart to get our clients the justice they deserve.
- Q: What percentage of your (Jason Javaheri) cases are personal injury claims?
- A: Nearly 100% of our cases at J&Y Law are personal injury claims. We focus entirely on injury law because that’s where people need advocacy the most, I think. As a personal injury law firm, we represent clients injured in car accidents, motorcycle crashes, truck collisions, slip and falls, dog bites, wrongful death cases, and more. Our entire legal team is built around this one mission, and that's getting justice for the injured. If you’re hurt and looking for a California injury attorney who lives and breathes this work, go with our firm here at J&Y Law.
- Q: What are some of your (Jason Javaheri) most memorable victories in personal injury cases?
- A: We’ve had the honor of securing life-changing results for clients who’ve suffered major injuries. A few that come to mind is one case, where our client used her settlement money to pay for her sister's surgery. Another case, our client was able to use the $1.25m settlement to buy a house, get married, and start his life. In another, we won $5m against a major big box retailer, and even though our client may never walk the same way again, at least he's able to get a second chance at finding happiness. As a California injury attorney, those are the victories that matter most to me.
- Q. Is it normal for personal injury case delays in California?
- A: California personal injury cases can take time. Your attorney likely waited until you reached Maximum Medical Improvement before they sent out the demand. That part was probably handled correctly because settling too early can leave you stuck paying paying for future medical expenses out-of-pocket.
What would concern me more is the communication and file handling. If you already provided records once and were asked for them again later, or if you were able to get records faster yourself than the law firm could, that’s usually a sign the file may not be getting enough attention internally.
At this point, I’d stop relying on phone calls and send an email asking: Was the demand actually ... Read More
- Q. How to dispute fault assignment and address insurance rate increase after car accident in California?
- A: You've got the sequence of events working in your favor. Your insurance company initially told you the other driver was at fault, directed you to move forward with repairs, and gave you the impression reimbursement would happen. Then they reversed course after the fact. That’s why you need to stop handling this over the phone and put everything in writing.
I would request a written explanation for why fault changed, ask for a copy of the full claim file, and specifically ask whether a supervisor reviewed the dash cam footage. Your video evidence is valuable because it creates an objective timeline instead of just competing statements between drivers.
