J. Scott McComas
Commencing with my August 1973 employment with the District Attorney’s Office, I have since been continuously involved with the criminal judicial system. My first job was in a clerical role, and over time, my responsibilities expanded to criminal case investigation, and after matriculation to law school, assignment as a law clerk, preparing legal memoranda and briefs in criminal cases. After graduation from law school, I regularly appeared in the all levels of the judicial system, from municipal courts, county, state and federal district courts, and the Colorado Supreme Court, first as an associate of a local law firm, and continuing when I established an independent law practice in 1984. The regularity of my appearance in the court system has been appreciably enhanced with my role as an Alternate Defense Counsel contractor, representing indigent defendants since the inception of that system in 1997. Therefore I have been continuously and intensively involved with the judicial system since 1973.
