Eric Maciolek
Attorney Eric Maciolek graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with degrees in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Eric’s strong interest in science naturally steered him in the direction of forensic science in the courtroom. Attorney Maciolek was accepted to law school in 2004 and attended DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Illinois. Eric made the Dean’s list throughout a majority of his law school career consistently ranking near the top of his class. In law school he focused on criminal trial lawyer skills. He was one of the top ranked students in a year-long competitive trial advocacy program. Eric excelled in advanced criminal law classes and litigated real cases even as a law student attorney in one of Chicago’s inner city felony courtrooms.
Attorney Maciolek has never shied away from even the most serious of cases. Eric was an active member of DePaul’s Death Penalty Clinic which litigated real death penalty cases in Cook County, Illinois. As part of that clinic, Attorney Maciolek interviewed incarcerated clients, drafted defense motions, and prepared death penalty cases for trial. It was this experience in the most serious of all criminal cases that Attorney Maciolek solidified his passion for defending people in court.
Attorney Maciolek also interned with the Federal Defender Program in Chicago where he researched any and all aspects of federal criminal cases. Even as a law student, he tried a case in federal court where his client was facing life in prison.
Upon graduation Attorney Maciolek moved to Green Bay, WI, passing the Wisconsin’s Bar Examination soon after. Since returning to Wisconsin, Attorney Maciolek has handled over 2000 criminal cases, in multiple counties. Attorney Maciolek was elected as a board member of the Wisconsin Association of criminal defense attorneys and has served on the board for the last nine years. Rates, Retainers and Additional Information
We charge flat legal fees in criminal case. You will not get monthly bills. We do not charge by the hour. The fee quote for your particular case is the total you will pay. Your rights matter. We have seen too many cases were a client has hired a different law firm and later realizes that if he wants to actually fight his case, the fee double or triple. That is not fair and it is not right. You deserve to know with certainty what it costs to fight your case. Our fee includes: all court appearances, all communications with the court and the prosecuting attorney, analysis of discovery, legal opinions about the best course of action in your case, and jury trial, if necessary. In a word we handle everything. The only exception to this rule is substantial investigation fees or expert fees which are only necessary in rare cases.
