David C. Adams
David believes that an effective family law practice is about putting clients first and maintaining relationships. David graduated from the University of Houston-Clear Lake in 2011 summa cum laude, with a degree in History. Prior to practicing law, David taught high school public speaking, history, and debate for several years. While teaching, David earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law.
As a former high school history teacher and debate coach, David believes the right arguments are just as important as remembering that every client’s needs are different, every client’s story is different, and every story needs an effective storyteller. David’s legal practice focuses primarily on divorce, child custody, and child support. As a divorced father, David intimately understands the divorce process, and child custody. When David isn’t practicing law, he likes to spend time with his daughter, and follow his Houston Astros.

- Q. Mother still refuses to do what is court ordered for me to start my supervised visitation.
- A: You need to file an enforcement action against your ex. Often, once you prove your ex violated a valid order, the judge will order her to pay your attorney's fees. If your ex continues to ignore a judge's orders she will likely be fined and eventually jailed for contempt of court.
- Q. My ex wife claimed diabled in our 2017 divorce but she is not legally by the State.After 2 yrs I want to challenge it.
- A: If the circumstances have changed since your divorce was granted you can file a modification and ask that the maintenance be reduced. Please contact my firm if you'd like to move forward.
- Q. Do I need a lawyer to subpoena my ex-husband's financial records, who lives in another state?
- A: You have two options: 1) ask your ex to give you the records you need, or 2) file a subpoena requesting the documents. I would recommend you hire an attorney if a subpoena is required.
