Biography

David Nacht fights for people throughout their career, from student to employee to executive. Nacht is particularly proud of his efforts to expand due process rights for the accused: whether in the workplace, by federal investigators, or by prosecutors. Nacht’s approach is to listen to his client and put his client, and the client’s career and reputation first. Nacht uses his extensive knowledge of the law to help achieve his client's objectives. The key is strategy and thinking several steps ahead. Fight for Dignity, but don’t let emotions cloud decision-making.

Few lawyers regularly practice both criminal and civil law in federal and state courts. Nacht is one of them, and he uses what he learns in each sphere to improve his practice in the other.

Mr. Nacht, the founded the firm in January 1996, holds degrees from Harvard College ('87) and The University of Michigan Law School ('92), where he served as an editor of the Law Review.

Mr. Nacht has been selected for inclusion in the Michigan Super Lawyers list in 2014 – 2022 (a distinction given to only 5% of attorneys in the state), is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell, the highest rating for lawyers by lawyers, and has been named a "Million Dollar Advocate".

Before attending law school, Mr. Nacht served as a staff member to former U.S. Senator John Glenn on the Senate Governmental Affairs Committee, where he organized committee hearings and assisted the Senator in negotiating the passage of multiple pieces of legislation.

There is no guarantee that NachtLaw, P.C., will offer a free consultation to every potential client. The Firm will make that decision based on the type of case, our potential interest in the matter, and other factors. Additionally, any free consultation may be more limited in scope than a paid consultation. For example, the Firm may offer only screening to learn more information about the claim without fully reviewing documents, providing comprehensive legal advice, or entering into an attorney-client relationship. The initial consultation intends to allow the Firm to understand the nature of a potential client’s matter and to inform the potential client if the Firm will consider representing the potential client on an hourly or contingency basis. Any information provided by the client during the initial consultation is protected by attorney-client privilege and the information will remain confidential regardless of whether you retain our services.
