Growing up in Paducah, Kentucky, Tom knew from childhood that he wanted to be an attorney, a choice that was highly encouraged by his loving parents and six younger siblings. He took the first step toward achieving this goal by attending the University of Kentucky, where he graduated magna cum laude with degrees in history and political science.
