Thomas P. ('Tip') McCabe has extensive criminal defense experience having practiced as an Assistant Public Defender in Chester County, Pennsylvania. He has represented hundreds of defendants at the preliminary hearing level and at the Court of Common Pleas. He has jury trial experience including felony jury trials, and he has represented clients at the appellate level. Mr. McCabe also has juvenile criminal defense experience. Prior to his employment at the Chester County Public Defender's Office, Mr. McCabe practiced civil litigation in Philadelphia.

Raised in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, Brian was the 1981 recipient of the Thomas B. McCabe Achievement Award and attended Swarthmore College on scholarship. He graduated from Swarthmore College in 1985 with degrees in economics and psychology. While attending Swarthmore, Brian played varsity football and lacrosse, and also was elected to the Student Judiciary Committee. Brian graduated from Villanova University School of Law in 1988.
