Christy, as she likes to be called, is a native of Cobb County, born and raised in Marietta, Georgia. After graduating from Mt. Paran Christian School, located in Cobb, she attended Kennesaw State University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2006, receiving her Bachelor of Science degree.
