I was born and raised in Cotton Plant, Arkansas, a place where wild animals outnumbered people and everyone was a farmer, not a lawyer. In fact, I didn't meet a lawyer until I sought one out in college, having already decided to pursue a career in law. Growing up in such a rural community instilled in me a strong sense of community, a drive to advocate for others, and, most importantly, the value of endurance.
