While passing the bar in both Indiana and Texas in the same year, I decided early on to stay true to my roots as a Hoosier and remain close to family in Johnson County, Indiana. For eight-and-a-half years, I practiced with one of the largest law firms in the county where I focused on bankruptcy, consumer rights, foreclosure defense, and general litigation. Matthew Emerson been a practicing attorney for more than 24 years. He has been trial counsel on a multitude of cases resulting in jury verdicts, settlements, or judgments amounting to more than $1,000,000.

Matt earned his juris doctorate degree at Stetson University College of Law in 1993 where he graduated cum laude. Throughout his time there, he was awarded many recognitions some of which include honors grants, Dean’s Lists, and book awards.

Throughout his career, Matt has successfully represented clients throughout the country against a virtual whos who of American corporations, prosecuting class action cases on a wide variety of legal issues, including consumer fraud, wage and hour, product liability and civil rights.

Matt grew up in Austin, Texas and graduated from Baylor University in 1989 with a BBA in Finance. In 1992, Matt graduated from the University of Tulsa School of Law and started working as a legislative assistant for United States Congressman Sam Johnson. After his admission to the State Bar of Texas, Matt accepted a position as a felony prosecutor with the Potter County District Attorney’s Office in Amarillo, Texas.
