Douglas Cody graduated from Villanova University in 1992, and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corp. He served on active duty in a variety of assignments as a Marine Infantry Officer until 1995, when he was selected for the Marine Corps Funded Law Education Program. An alumna of Howard University School of Law in Washington, D.C., Ms. Kilpatrick serves on the Supreme Court of Nevada's Bench Bar Committee and Criminal Procedure Committee. She accrued vast criminal defense experience as a deputy public defender in Elko, Nevada. As a juvenile justice advocate in Elko, she established a myriad of policy improvements such as abolishing the denial of "credit for time served" to children incarcerated prior to disposition as well as eliminating the juvenile detention center's policy that denied parents visitation with their children.
