Stephen is a Columbus native, having graduated from Thomas Worthington High School, Ohio State University, and Capital University Law School. After law school, he spent five years at Christopher M. Cooper Co., LPA, practicing in a variety of areas, but focusing mainly on criminal law.

In 2013, Stephen opened his own practice dealing exclusively with criminal law and appeals throughout the state of Ohio and in federal court.
