Preston Warham Easley Jr
Handling Maritime & Shipyard Accidents in California & Hawaii for Over 40 Years
With a distinguished background in both military service and maritime labor, Attorney Preston Easley brings over four decades of legal experience to the representation of injured workers and maritime professionals.
A graduate of the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, Mr. Easley served five years on active duty as a Naval officer—three as a deck officer aboard a fast frigate and two as a patrol boat skipper. He also served in the Naval Reserve aboard a tank landing ship.
While attending law school, Mr. Easley worked as a longshoreman and marine machinist at Todd Shipyards, gaining firsthand experience of the hazards faced by maritime and industrial workers. This practical knowledge has informed his legal practice, where he has handled countless catastrophic injury cases involving cranes, forklifts, scaffolds, dredges, barges, tugboats, ships, and defective equipment.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Easley has achieved landmark victories in courts at every level, including the U.S. Supreme Court, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, the California Supreme Court, and the California Court of Appeal. His appellate work has helped shape and expand the rights of injured workers, often resulting in the reversal of lower court rulings and the creation of new legal precedents.
Attorney Easley is licensed to practice in California and Hawaii. He represents a broad range of clients, including longshoremen, shipyard workers, dredge and tugboat crew members, pile drivers, marine construction workers, merchant seamen, tour and recreational boat crews and passengers, operating engineers, ironworkers, oil refinery employees, and victims of serious vehicle and trucking accidents.
