Philip Robert Brinson
Philip Robert Brinson is an experienced trial lawyer who possesses unique skills derived from experience outside of the legal fields that have made him not only a trusted advocate for his clients, but also a formidable adversary in the courtroom. Mr. Brinson has extensive legal experience in a variety of practice areas, including hospitality and dram shop, entertainment, premises liability, products liability, professional liability, employment, oil field services, and business and commercial litigation. Mr. Brinson has litigation experience on both sides of the docket in handling infringement actions in copyright and trademark actions in the entertainment and hospitality industries, including matters involving the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and likeness misappropriation claims under copyright preemption principles. Mr. Brinson has represented both insured and self-insured clients, ranging from individuals to Fortune 500 companies. Over his legal career, Mr. Brinson has gained first-chair trial experience on numerous cases involving Dram Shop, Assault/Battery, Defamation Premises, Employment, Copyright/Trademark Infringement, and Product Liability litigation, and is adept in presenting cases to both the Texas appellate courts and the United States Court of Appeals. He has represented his clients on various matters in counties throughout Texas, from El Paso to Orange, from Cameron to Potter, and numerous others in between, in addition to California, Nevada, Florida, Louisiana, Delaware, Illinois, and Pennsylvania. Mr. Brinson served as in-house General Counsel to a multi-concept hospitality enterprise that developed, owned, and operated over 20 sports bar and billiards, craft beer retail, and shaved ice refreshment establishments in Texas and Louisiana. Mr. Brinson continues to serve as outside General Counsel for the company.
