: Current; Providence Equity Partners Inc. Acquisition of Television Group of Clear Channel Communications Inc. Advising Providence Equity Partners Inc. in connection with its $1.2 billion acquisition from Clear Channel Communications Inc. of 56 television stations in 24 markets.

: Current; Non-Native English Speaking Teachers (Lowell MA) AALDEF/Lowell Teachers; Vandy Dutch, et al. v. City of Lowell Weil Gotshal won a major pro bono victory on behalf of non-native-speaking teachers from the Lowell, Massachusetts school system, fired when they failed an English fluency test. The arbitrator found the terminations were without just cause and reinstated the teachers with full back pay, all seniority rights, health care benefits, and pension benefits. The arbitrator further found that Lowell’s policy impermissibly discriminated against non-native-speaking teachers and that the teachers’ constitutional rights were violated when Lowell failed to observe the teachers and examine their past teaching history. On January 16, 2007, a single justice of the Appeals Court ruled in favor of the teachers and denied Lowell’s motion to stay. The teachers are now back at work while the appeal is pending. more

: Current; Brazos Private Equity Partners Acquisition of Fuel Systems Inc. from TMB Industries Advised Brazos Private Equity Partners in connection with its acquisition of Fuel Systems Inc.

: Current; Darling International Inc. Acquisition of National By-Products, LLC Represented Darling International Inc. in the acquisition of National By-Products, LLC.

: Current; Reader's Digest Association Inc. Reader's Digest Association, Inc. Victory in one of a number of non-compete matters that we have been shepherding for Readers Digest Association (RDA). This case involved RDA's most significant competitor in its most profitable business. The order essentially exonerates RDA entirely and vacates the key sanctions ruling, memorializes our plaintiff's verdict and awards our full fees requested, and turns the tables 180 degrees on RDA's competitor.
