Norvik Azarian
Norvik Azarian is the Managing Attorney at Tact Law Firm, APC. His practice focuses on assisting individuals with long-term disability and short-term disability ERISA claims, personal injuries, and appellate matters. While advocating for his clients, Norvik draws on his past experiences to provide unique insights to their cases and level the playing field.
Prior to starting Tact Law Firm, Norvik worked at two prestigious defense firms in Los Angeles, where he defended major insurance companies, ERISA benefits administrators, managed care entities, and Fortune 500 corporations. During his time as a defense attorney, Norvik represented many ERISA benefits lawsuits involving claims for long-term disability, short-term disability, accidental death and dismemberment, life insurance, and health care benefits.
Norvik understands how insurance companies and ERISA claims administrators operate and approach the cases he now advocates for his clients.
Norvik also has years of experience handling complex appellate matters. During law school, Norvik served as a judicial extern to a prominent Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, where he assisted the Circuit Judge in evaluating appeals, drafted portions of appellate opinions, and learned how appellate judges consider and decide cases.
In his practice, Norvik has worked on numerous civil appeals. He has represented clients at the California Courts of Appeal, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and has authored a successful opposition to a petition for writ of certiorari at the United States Supreme Court in a complex ERISA case involving a circuit split regarding co-fiduciary liabilities. See Cho v. First Reliance Standard Life Ins. Co., 852 Fed. Appx. 304 (9th Cir. 2021), cert. denied, 142 S. Ct. 1118 (2022).
