8 Questions Answered
Q. I was referred to this site by Bri Beech for a pro bono attorney. Are there any available regarding personal injury?
A: Pro bono is the legal phrase for free service or no charge. Most personal injury cases are handled on a contingent fee agreement. The attorney fee (and often case expenses) are contingent or dependent upon a recovery. In other word, most personal injury lawyers don't work pro bono, but will only get paid if they make a recovery for the injured party.
Q. Who is responsible for a power line/box/meter being ripped off onto my car?
A: Generally, a truck driver is responsible to make sure he/she only travels through proper clearances. Accordingly, there is a legitimate argument that he/she was negligent. The owner of the property may also be negligent in maintaining a nuisance on their property and infringing upon the public right of way. If neither party will accept responsibility and you must sue, I would suggest making them both defendants to the case and let them point the finger at each other.

Good luck.
Q. Car rear ended me on the highway pushing my car into another vehicle. Car that hit me, drove off and can’t be found.
A: I am sorry you had this experience. When you are struck from behind and pushed into the car in front of you, you are generally not at fault. Assuming you have full coverage, you should go through your own carrier. If the people in the car in front try to bring a claim against you, then your insurer will defend you. If you have collision coverage or uninsured property damage, your carrier should pay for your total loss. If you have an injury and have uninsured motorist coverage, you should immediately consult with a personal injury lawyer (most, like me, don't charge any fee unless we make a recovery for you). I am also available to discuss this with you at no cost if you have more detailed questions. Good luck! ... Read More
