Lorenzo Arca is an associate with Fleitas & Arca, PLLC. Mr. Arca is a licensed attorney admitted to practice in Florida, and works in the Firm’s Immigration and Business Practice Areas. Mr. Arca represents clients in planning and executing both Family-based and Employment-based immigration strategies. Mr. Arca’s immigration practice focuses primarily on business immigration services representing clients and investors transitioning into the U.S. market. Additionally, Mr. Arca assists and advises clients on a wide-variety of business and corporate matters, ranging from entity formation to particularized contract drafting.
Prior to joining Fleitas & Arca, PLLC, Mr. Arca attended Florida International University College of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctorate. Mr. Arca graduated from Florida International University’s College of Law Magna Cum Laude, was honored as Salutatorian of his graduating class, and was awarded the Medallion of Distinction for Excellence in Civic Engagement for logging over 200 hours of pro bono work.
Additionally, Mr. Arca served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Cecilia M. Altonaga in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and the Honorable Barbara Lagoa, in the Third District Court of Appeals. Mr. Arca also served as a Staff and Senior Staff Member in the FIU Law Review and worked in the Carlos A. Costa Immigration & Human Rights Clinic.

- A: The greatest disadvantage of single-member LLCs, is that member's exposure to personal liability. Unfortunately, your question does not provide many facts, aside from the fact that you are the sole member of an LLC that is being sued.

- A: I presume your question refers to Form I-864 (Affidavit of Support). Form I-864 is a contract which an individual signs (usually the Petitioner filed with Form I-130), in which the individual agrees to sponsor (use his/her financial resources to support) an intending immigrant.
The amount that an individual must show, in order to prove that he/she can support the intending immigrant is based on the size of the sponsor's household. For example, in a household of 2, a sponsor must show that he/she earns at least $21,137.00.
