: Current; Activities: Ms. Powell is a member of the American Bar Association, Litigation Section (Mass Torts, Business Torts, Products Liability, Insurance Coverage, and the Women Advocate Committees), the Torts and Insurance Practice Section, the International Law Section (International Dispute Resolution Committee), and the Dispute Resolution Section; the Texas Bar Association, Insurance Law, Litigation, and Construction Law Sections; the Houston Bar Association, Construction Law and Litigation Sections; the Defense Research Institute, Product Liability Committee (Building Products Subcommittee); Toxic Torts and Environmental Committee, and Construction Law Committee; the Texas Association of Defense Counsel; and the Supreme Court Historical Society. Ms. Powell is a Life Fellow of the Houston and Texas Bar Foundations and is a Director of the Texas General Counsel Forum " Houston chapter. She is a member of the Advisory Board of the Institute for Transnational Arbitration and is a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas for 2008.
