Biography

Larry graduated from Auburn University in 1987 where he earned a B.A. in Pre-Law Criminal Justice. He also played football from 1981-1984 for Auburn University and was team member for the 1983 SEC Championship team and 1984 Sugar Bowl Champion. He attended Thomas Goode Jones School of Law while working full time in law enforcement for over 3 years graduating August 1993 and began practicing law in the Auburn area in April 1994.

While at Jones School of Law Larry was a member of the Sigma Delta Law Fraternity. In his second year of law school Larry was elected by his peers as vice president of the law fraternity and for his third year of law school He was elected President of SDK law fraternity. In addition, Larry was elected in his final year of law school as Chief Justice of the Schools Honor Court, presiding over disciplinary hearings and student related issues.

While a student in law school and one year after graduation Larry was hired by the State of Alabama to serve as the Law Clerk for former Circuit Judge John Davis in Montgomery County Family/Circuit Court for two years assisting Judge Davis with legal research and writing and serving as a special master appointed in pendente lite Divorce proceedings.

Larry began his solo general law practice focusing on domestic relations and criminal cases. In 2007, his brother Andrew Cooper joined Larry in his law practice and the firm became known as Cooper & Cooper, Attorneys at Law, LLC. Larry assists clients in all Alabama counties; however, his practice is primarily focused in Central and East Alabama (Lee, Russell, Tallapoosa, Macon, Bullock, Montgomery, and Chambers counties).
