Joseph Stuart Karp
Giving Florida families peace of mind
I am a Florida Bar certified and nationally certified elder law attorney and the founder of The Karp Law Firm, with three Florida offices in Palm Beach Gardens, Boynton Beach and Port St. Lucie. My mission is to allay clients' fears and give them peace of mind with effective planning. No one can know the future, but we can prepare for whatever the future holds.
I can help with these issues:
Obtain Medicaid and/or V.A. benefits for clients facing the exorbitant cost of long-term nursing home care. Assets can often be preserved even if a loved one is already residing in a nursing home.
Design solid estate plans using wills and trust to ensure that your assets go to the people you want to get them and don't fall into the wrong hands.
Preserve clients' dignity and protect them from possible guardianship if disability should strike. We create Durable Powers of Attorney and Health Care Surrogates so that someone the client knows and trusts can manage their financial affairs and health care if necessary.
Help families through the many administrative steps that must be taken when a loved one passes away. Estate administration services include both probate and trust administration.
Coordinate legal help for clients if they must defend an estate against a lawsuit from a challenger, or if they are thinking of challenging an estate.
Of course, it's always better to handle conflicts out of court. As a Florida Supreme Court Circuit Court Mediator, I help families resolve issues over estate matters, as well as resolve differences over the care of an aging loved one.
I strive to treat every client with the same respect and compassion I would want for myself and for my own family. This is the goal of every attorney and staff person at The Karp Law Firm.
