Truly outstanding service fueled by knowledge, character, and dedication. I contacted Mr. Jose Emmanuel Santiago regarding an incredibly unique child support case. In fact, Mr. Santiago himself stated he’s never had or heard of a case like mine in the decade he’s practiced law! So, here’s the story; I live in South Carolina, work in Georgia, have only been to Puerto Rico once in 1993, and was served at my job with a child support order to garnish my paycheck for a young lady born in Puerto Rico in 2004! After explaining to Mr. Santiago that I was previously a victim of identity theft in Puerto Rico, as well as providing supporting documentation, Mr. Santiago informed me of the cost for his services (which was reasonable and better than other attorneys I contacted) and began to work diligently. Once Mr. Santiago took the case, he filed a motion and a virtual hearing was scheduled within two weeks!! Not only that, but Mr. Santiago represented me at the hearing like I was right beside him instead of more than 1,400 miles away! As it turns out, my identity had been used illegally by a coward for over 20 years in Puerto Rico. The coward also used my identity when fathering children, which is where my case started. The truth was revealed in the virtual hearing and, thankfully, the charges against me were immediately dismissed. It was extremely frustrating and nerve racking to be accused of something in a place I’ve never lived and could not get to as easily as driving. Honestly, my wife and I didn’t see a positive outlook when this all started and believed we’d have a financial crisis that could ruin us that was based on a lie. That all changed when I contacted Mr. Santiago. I can’t thank Mr. Santiago enough for the services he provided and the help that resulted from his efforts. I also can’t imagine it was easy for him to take a case for a person that doesn’t live anywhere near him. Nonetheless, Mr. Santiago provided phenomenal service and worked with a purpose that seemed almost personal. I hope whoever reads this doesn’t have a case like mine to endure, however, should that happen THERE IS NO ONE BETTER to represent you than Jose Emmanuel Santiago!

Oustanding Laywer I consulted with Mr. Santiago for a case child custody case that was improperly filed in Puerto Rico due to lack of jursidiction. I specifically chose him because he was experienced in interstate removal of children and the Parental Kidnapping Prevention Act. After my consultation, I hired him because I knew his knowledge in this field was unmatched. He took the proper legal steps to help me get the resolution that I was seeking. His advice and the way he handled the case is what made the difference. He responded to my comments in a timely manner, and was always redy to help me. Biography

José E. Santiago is an attorney whose legal practice concentrates on Family Law (Divorce, Custody or Visitation Rights), Probate (Declaration of Heirs) and Inheritances. Attorney Santiago also has ample experience on Jurisdictional issues arising between States.

In 2018 he wrote and offers regularly a legal education course on Interstate Conflicts in Custody Cases between States. The course has been offered at the Annual Convention of the Puerto Rican Bar Association since then, also been a regular course offered by that institution.

José has been assisting his clients since 2013 with jurisdictional issues regarding the interstate removal of children, Parental Kidnapping Prevention Act claims, validating and executing custody or divorce decrees from any State of the United States, and managing jurisdictional issues when more than one State claims jurisdiction. He also manages an ample clientele regarding inheritances issues such as declaration of heirs or inheritance division via the courts.

On March 14, 2023 Attorney Santiago won a Supreme Court Case cementing the Full Faith and Credit Doctrine when dealing with a Custody Decree from another State. For more details see attached link:
