Truly outstanding service fueled by knowledge, character, and dedication. I contacted Mr. Jose Emmanuel Santiago regarding an incredibly unique child support case. In fact, Mr. Santiago himself stated he’s never had or heard of a case like mine in the decade he’s practiced law! So, here’s the story; I live in South Carolina, work in Georgia, have only been to Puerto Rico once in 1993, and was served at my job with a child support order to garnish my paycheck for a young lady born in Puerto Rico in 2004! After explaining to Mr. Santiago that I was previously a victim of identity theft in Puerto Rico, as well as providing supporting documentation, Mr. Santiago informed me of the cost for his services (which was reasonable and better than other attorneys I contacted) and began to work diligently. Once Mr. Santiago took the case, he filed a motion and a virtual hearing was scheduled within two weeks!! Not only that, but Mr. Santiago represented me at the hearing like I was right beside him instead of more than 1,400 miles away! As it turns out, my identity had been used illegally by a coward for over 20 years in Puerto Rico. The coward also used my identity when fathering children, which is where my case started. The truth was revealed in the virtual hearing and, thankfully, the charges against me were immediately dismissed. It was extremely frustrating and nerve racking to be accused of something in a place I’ve never lived and could not get to as easily as driving. Honestly, my wife and I didn’t see a positive outlook when this all started and believed we’d have a financial crisis that could ruin us that was based on a lie.
