Information exchange between attorney/client
There are legal cases online that seem like the basis for horror movies advertised as documentaries that highlight the need for reform. The Netflix series called Making a Murderer brought some common practices used by the justice system into the open
for debate. It’s no secret that once someone is arrested for any crime they are now known to the police and may be suspected of other crimes depending on facts and bias. The individual violated the law and the consequences are far reaching. Even if you confessed to the crime and paid your debt to society, a label has been placed on you for life. From that moment on you do not get the benefit of the doubt and must prove your innocence as opposed to the state proving your guilt. Additionally if you were ever to need the assistance of law-enforcement, the court system or other state related agency I wouldn’t expect a sympathetic response. Most likely the prevailing thought Among those involved In crime and punishment or any other organization or institution aware of your past is that if any crime Has been committed against you, is that you deserve to suffer and that is how justice is served for past crimes that were punished leniently. That’s exactly what happened to me but by some miracle my attorney was able to defend my rights and protect me from those who seek their own definition of justice. Normally, these institutions hand out street justice without consequence, remorse or regret. It’s so easy because the agencies who oversee the institution are either deceived, if any complaint is mentioned or there is simply little interest in the nature of the complaint. Furthermore regardless of the situation the institution It’s always right and completely blameless. That’s why when I became the focus of street justice by a hospital legally obligated to protect me from them, I was convinced of the imminent harm to my health. I responded by ending my life before it was too late. It didn’t work but the damage was done. Before I had the opportunity to try again my attorney secured my release and weeks later I was gone. I had to endure a little abuse before I actually left. I figured that no one cares about me anyway and would ignore any allegations of abuse or unlawful confinement. That’s exactly what happened. I even tried to get some legal advice because I’m the poster child for meeting the requirements for assistance. Somehow I was denied services and ignored and forgotten. John decided he had seen enough. It was clear to him I was being ignored and that people from every agency we’re spreading the word To ignore me for services I was legally entitled to. John went straight to the top to argue on my behalf in regards to laws ignored or broken And refusal for agencies to follow their own policies. At first he met resistance but he never gave up and he never lost sight of the fact that he had a duty to help me. Eventually he convinced the powers that be that an investigation needs to be conducted an order to bring the truth into the light. By no fault of johns the investigation was a sham. To this day justice has not been served, outside of street justice of course, But the effort was there, led By my appointed attorney, Because that’s the effort you can expect from John for every client.
