Prior to attending law school, Joel spent three years teaching special education at a public school in North Carolina and three years teaching at an international school in Tokyo, Japan. Joel is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of Boston Trinity Academy and recently served as the Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Everybody Wins! Metro Boston, a non-profit organization promoting reading mentoring in elementary schools. He also advises social service and educational organizations in a variety of matters.
