Prior to joining Goodwin Procter, Dr. Talkington was an associate in the San Francisco office of Squire, Sanders and Dempsey, where he was a member of the Intellectual Property Group working on patent drafting and prosecution matters. Before that, he was an associate with Nixon Peabody, where he was a member of the Technology and Intellectual Property group working on patent prosecution and patent interference matters. While attending law school, Dr. Talkington was with David R. Preston Associates, where he worked on patent and trademark prosecution matters for emerging companies in the San Diego area.
