Biography

Jason Plotkin is the CEO and Managing Attorney of Pinder Plotkin Legal Team, a Maryland personal injury and workers' compensation firm established in 2002. True to its trademarked motto "Hardworking Attorneys for Hardworking People," the firm handles car, truck, motorcycle, rideshare, and dog bite cases, workers' compensation, and wrongful death claims throughout Maryland.

Born and raised in Baltimore, Jason began his career representing corporate clients before investigating financial crimes — work that sharpened his analytical and advocacy skills. His own experience surviving two serious car accidents and a dog bite gives him firsthand understanding of the physical, emotional, and financial toll injuries impose — a perspective that shapes how the Pinder Plotkin Legal Team approaches every case.

Jason earned his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law (2006), his M.B.A. from the University of Baltimore (2000), and his B.S. in Marketing from the University of Baltimore (1999), all with honors. He previously taught Business Law at Howard Community College and served as a judicial extern in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.

A lifetime member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum — a distinction held by fewer than one percent of U.S. attorneys — Jason has been selected to Super Lawyers from 2020 through 2026. Honors include the Clio Legal Impact Award (2021), and the Daily Record's VIP List – Successful Before 40. The Pinder Plotkin Legal Team recovers millions of dollars for injured Marylanders each year and is recognized for vigorous advocacy against insurance misconduct.

Jason has authored consumer legal guides including "Crash Course: To Recovery and Beyond" and "The Role of a Chiropractor in Treating Auto Accident Injuries," a number-one Amazon new release in personal injury law. A committed community advocate, he dedicates more than 25 percent of his time to service and mentorship — including free wills for Maryland First Responders.

About My Practice FAQs

Personal Injury

Q: How do you (Jason Plotkin) estimate the value of a personal injury claim?
A: Valuing a personal injury claim means analyzing economic and non-economic damages — medical expenses, lost wages, diminished earning capacity, property damage, pain and suffering, and psychological harm including PTSD. At Pinder Plotkin Legal Team, we serve injured clients across Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Prince George's County, Howard County, and Harford County, and we understand how Maryland courts evaluate these damages. Having personally survived serious injuries, I know numbers alone don't capture a client's full suffering. We consult medical and financial experts to ensure every dollar of loss is documented and presented compellingly — maximizing recovery for every client we serve.
Q: Do you (Jason Plotkin) work on a contingency fee basis, and how is the contingency fee calculated?
A: Yes. At Pinder Plotkin Legal Team, we handle personal injury cases on a contingency fee basis, which means you pay no attorney fees unless we win your case. Our fee is calculated as a percentage of the total recovery — discussed transparently during your free consultation at our Baltimore, Laurel, or Bel Air offices and formalized in a written agreement before we begin. This model ensures that injured Marylanders across Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Prince George's County, Howard County, and Harford County have access to aggressive, high-quality legal representation regardless of their financial situation. As Hardworking Attorneys for Hardworking People, we are invested in your outcome from day one — because when you win, we win.
Q: How long have you (Jason Plotkin) been practicing personal injury law?
A: I have been practicing law for two decades. Since Pinder Plotkin Legal Team was established in 2002, we have dedicated our practice to fighting for injured clients across Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Prince George's County, Howard County, Harford County, and throughout Maryland. Our offices in Baltimore, Laurel, and Bel Air position us to serve injured Marylanders from the heart of Baltimore City to the suburbs of Prince George's County and beyond. That depth of experience means our team understands how insurance companies operate, how to build compelling cases, and how to maximize results. At Pinder Plotkin Legal Team, we recover millions of dollars for injured clients each year — a track record built on more than 20 years of Maryland
Q: What are some of your (Jason Plotkin) most memorable victories in personal injury cases?
A: One of my most meaningful results was a case I resolved during litigation for over one million dollars. I had focus-grouped it with other experienced personal injury attorneys who valued it at far less. But having survived serious injuries myself, I recognized the true value in my client's story — and I fought for it. That case defines how Pinder Plotkin Legal Team approaches every claim across Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Prince George's County, Howard County, and Harford County. We recover millions for injured Marylanders each year because we see the full human value in every case, not just the numbers.
Q: What is the most important piece of advice you (Jason Plotkin) would give to someone who has recently been injured?
A: Do not speak to the insurance company before consulting an attorney. Insurers are skilled at using your own words to minimize or deny your claim. Seek medical attention immediately, document everything, and contact an experienced Maryland personal injury attorney as soon as possible. At Pinder Plotkin Legal Team, we offer free consultations at our offices in Baltimore, Laurel, and Bel Air, serving clients across Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Prince George's County, Howard County, and Harford County. Having survived two serious car accidents and a dog bite myself, I know how overwhelming the aftermath of an injury can be. We are here to guide you through every step and fight to maximize your recovery.

Workers' Compensation

Q: What’s the most important advice that you (Jason Plotkin) would give someone who has just been injured on the job, other than to hire a lawyer?
A: Report your injury to your employer immediately and seek medical attention right away. In Maryland, delays in reporting can jeopardize your entire claim. Document everything — photographs, witness names, and all medical visits. Do not let your employer direct you exclusively to their preferred doctor without understanding your rights. At Pinder Plotkin Legal Team, we serve injured workers across Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Prince George's County, Howard County, and Harford County. Having survived serious injuries myself, I know how disorienting this moment feels. We are Hardworking Attorneys for Hardworking People — and we are here to protect you.
Q: What are some of your (Jason Plotkin) best results in workers’ compensation claims?
A: At Pinder Plotkin Legal Team, we have secured significant settlements and awards for injured workers across Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Prince George's County, Howard County, and Harford County. Our most meaningful results come from cases where insurers undervalued serious injuries — and we fought back. Having personally experienced the impact of serious injuries, I understand what is truly at stake beyond the numbers, including lost wages, long-term medical care, and PTSD. We recover millions for injured Marylanders each year because we treat every workers' compensation claim with the same relentless commitment as any major litigation.
Q: Can you (Jason Plotkin) handle personal injury claims against third parties based on work injuries?
A: Yes — and this is one of the most overlooked opportunities in workers' compensation cases. Workers' comp does not provide pain and suffering or other non-economic damages. However, when a third party — such as a negligent driver, equipment manufacturer, or property owner — contributes to a workplace injury, a separate personal injury lawsuit can recover those damages. At Pinder Plotkin Legal Team, we routinely identify these dual-recovery opportunities for injured workers across Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Prince George's County, Howard County, and Harford County. This approach can dramatically increase total compensation — and our clients deserve every dollar Maryland law allows. Jason has trained chiropractors to spot these cases.
Q: How do you (Jason Plotkin) assess the potential value of a workers’ comp claim?
A: Assessing a Maryland workers' compensation claim requires evaluating medical expenses, lost wages, permanent partial or total disability ratings, and future treatment needs. Unlike personal injury cases, workers' comp does not include pain and suffering damages — which is why identifying potential third-party claims is critical to maximizing total recovery. At Pinder Plotkin Legal Team, we serve injured workers across Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Prince George's County, Howard County, and Harford County. We consult medical and vocational experts to ensure every element of a claim is fully documented and presented. Our clients deserve every dollar Maryland law allows.
Q: Do you (Jason Plotkin) work for a contingency fee, and how is it structured?
A: Yes. At Pinder Plotkin Legal Team, workers' compensation cases are handled on a contingency fee basis — you pay no attorney fees unless we recover compensation for you. In Maryland, workers' compensation attorney fees are regulated and approved by the Workers' Compensation Commission, ensuring transparency and fairness. We serve injured workers across Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Prince George's County, Howard County, and Harford County, and we make sure every client fully understands the fee structure before we begin. As Hardworking Attorneys for Hardworking People, our goal is to ensure that no injured Maryland worker is ever priced out of quality legal representation.
