Insurance Coverage and Business Litigation Attorney at Phelps Dunbar, LLP
I devoted a significant portion of my career to serving in the North Carolina judiciary before joining Phelps Dunbar LLP. This experience provided me with a unique perspective on how North Carolina courts may interpret policies and contracts that impact businesses within the state. My extensive background in drafting and contributing to judicial opinions stems from my time working with four North Carolina judges, including Chief Judge Chris Dillon of the North Carolina Court of Appeals and Judge Mark A. Davis of the North Carolina Business Court. Clients rely on me to help them navigate the courts and set a successful path forward.
I provide guidance to clients on insurance coverage issues and both first- and third-party claims. When necessary, I litigate insurance coverage disputes. I am actively involved in all facets of trial preparation, which includes drafting motions and briefs, as well as interviewing and preparing witnesses for trial.
