Stay away, seek competent counsel and better value for your money.
Mr. Wasserman was hired by my ex for a simple purchase contract of a restaurant. At closing, to my dismay, he never did any basic due diligence, including discovering missing certificate of occupancy, violations, and missing assignment of the restaurant
lease from the landlord even though he demanded full $7,500 payment before his appearance!
Mr. Wasserman failed to disclose "personal guarantee" to my ex before signing the irrational operational contract was signed by her. This contract resulted in a default judgement of $650,000 which could have been avoided simply by Mr. Wasserman saying to the judge that the contract was never completed (even not signed) instead of just saying "no" comment to the judge.
Because of this fact, I (the ex-spouse) was dragged into court and given that Wasserman "knew" the facts of the case" (so I thought,) I hired him which was the worst experience of my life. I discovered all of his incompetent acts throughout this period. I had to explain to Mr. Wasserman the contract that he drafted, cross reference applicable clauses, perform due diligence including dig up prior case law for my defense at trial.
Mr. Wasserman does not use a computer to compile his work, it's all written by hand and then rewritten by his elderly law partner with one finger at the time, while racking up billing fees. I had to rewrite every single submission including the summary of law presented to the judge. I hired a second lawyer to make sure whatever was submitted in my defense had legal standing. Wasserman, argued over everything (even yelling at me in his office and at trial because "he was the lawyer") I forced him to correct all his submissions to the Court, but eventually I was found not guilty notwithstanding his unprofessional and his sheepish presentation in front of the judge which admonished him accordingly.
At the end, he padded his fees by billing for a highly redacted one-page summation of law over $7,000 which had to be corrected with the help of my other lawyer. I ultimately had his last bill substantially reduced by Court when he sued for payment.
Competent and reason not found anywhere here, stay away!
