- Derek’s experience includes all aspects of patent litigation in a variety of technologies, including microprocessor architecture, pharmaceuticals and construction materials. Exemplary cases include: VIA Technologies, Inc. and Centaur Technologies, Inc. v. Intel Corp., Case No. A-01-CA-602 (SS) (W.D. Tex.); Amgen Inc. v. Hoescht Marion Roussel, Inc. and Transkaryotic Therapies, Inc., Case No. 97-10814 (WGY) (D. Mass.); G-P Gypsum Corp. v. BPB America, Inc. and BPB Manufacturing, Inc., Case No. 03-907 (KAJ) (D. Del.); and Massachusetts Eye Ear Infirmary v. QLT Phototherapeutics, Inc., Case Nos. 03-1682, -1683, -1725 (2d Cir.). From 1996-1998, Derek was a process engineer for NEC Electronics, Inc. at its semiconductor wafer manufacturing facility in Roseville, California. During law school, Derek was an intern for the Honorable Richard Linn at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
