: Current; Activities: Charlie is a member of the House of Delegates of the Oregon State Bar, a former member of the American Bar Association House of Delegates, and a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. He served a three-year term on the Board of Governors of the Oregon State Bar, and was the first chairman of its Affirmative Action Program, the first such program instituted by any bar in the country. He is past chair of the Constitutional Law Section, the Civil Rights Committee, and the Affirmative Action Committee of the Oregon State Bar, and has served on many other Bar committees, including the Multnomah Bar Association Task Force on Indigent Defense. He has received the President’s Public Service Award from the Oregon State Bar "for outstanding volunteer law-related services to the public."
