Q. Do non moving violations in Washington( which don't appear on ur record) make a deferall agreement void?
A: Typically no, if the violation deferred was a moving violation. You have a deferral available for both a moving and a separate non-moving violation. However, individual courts may have their own standard for what constitutes a violation, so it is best to check with the court involved.
Q. I have traffic court on this November 16. 2023 In lewis county District court. Chehalis, WA.
A: Very little in life is guaranteed. But a traffic lawyer who has experience in taking on traffic tickets nearly every single day will probably have a much greater chance of finding an error or mistake that would get the speeding ticket dismissed (FYI it is an RCW. Leave off the .26) And is also likely to know what is NOT going to work in front of a particular judge. They also know what they might be able to do in negotiating something with the Prosecutor to keep the moving violation from your record with DOL.

As the saying goes: I know how my car's brakes work. I still pay a professional to do work on them.

FYI I do not do Lewis County.
Q. Does WSP officer need to sign the ticket they give you?
A: Most traffic tickets are electronically filed these days, so there are procedures for the officer filing using a unique registered username and password. On the copy provided to you it will have the officers name and badge number printed.

There are a few officers out there who are not primarily traffic officers who still have the old hand written ticket books. They still have to be signed with a signature. They will be a green form.

The officer does have the authority to write the ticket for a lesser speed than they got a reading for. Lower fine for you and lower speed to DOL if found committed. A 61 in a 60 is considered as a 1-5 over by Insurance

You should always look into challenging traffic tickets. Best thing to do is to call a traffic lawyer who covers your court. Most offer a free consultation. ... Read More
