Malick received a Bachelor of Arts in Music, cum laude, from Kent State University in 1980, and a Masters of Theology in Bible Exposition, with honors, from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1984. In 2003, he earned his Juris Doctorate, magna cum laude, from Capital University Law School, where he received the Order of the Curia.
