University of Michigan Law School Community Enterprise Clinic
The University of Michigan Law School Community Enterprise Clinic provides transactional legal assistance to new and established organizations in a range of subject matters; technical assistance and capacity-building to groups related to their formation and operation as nonprofit organizations; and research on issues of importance to the organizations. Since its creation in 1991, this clinic has assisted community development corporations responsible for building more than one thousand units of affordable housing. More recently, the clinic has expanded its assistance to small, minority, and women-owned businesses in Detroit with the goal of helping such businesses become contributors to the economy of the city.
