About Hays-Caldwell Women's Center
The Hays-Caldwell Women’s Center (HCWC) is a not-for-profit, 501(c)3 organization which offers free, short-term (up to six months) counseling and advocacy services to victims of family violence, dating violence, sexual assault and child abuse who reside within the Hays County and Caldwell County area of Central Texas. HCWC also educates the community on the primary prevention of sexual assault and parenting. HCWC is headquartered in San Marcos and has offices throughout our service area.
HCWC operates a 50-person-capacity family violence shelter, the McCoy Family Shelter in San Marcos, where victims of family violence may normally stay for up to 30 days. HCWC operates the Children’s Advocacy Center known as Roxanne’s House in San Marcos, Texas. Our work with victims of child abuse may last as long as a court case which can span over a year. HCWC is supported by gifts from individuals, organizations, businesses, foundations, and local, state and federal government.Legal Services Provided
