East Texas Crisis Center
About East Texas Crisis Center
From small beginnings as an all-volunteer agency, incorporated in 1978 as the Smith County Citizens Against Rape, the East Texas Crisis Center has become a haven for thousands of victims of family violence, sexual assault and violent crime
Within the core services to victims in five counties, programs are reaching underserved populations in rural areas as well as racial and Spanish-speaking minorities. Programs emphasize both prevention and intervention. Resale store operations provide clothing, household goods and furniture at no cost to families in extreme need. Sales to the public are an ancillary funding source for Crisis Center programs. With help from wonderful supporters throughout the community, the East Texas Crisis Center has provided counseling for victims of family violence and sexual assault since 1978. Thank you for making it possible for us to continue to fulfill our mission to offer services to victims and help to break the cycle of violence. Abuse of any kind, particularly family violence and sexual abuse, is not something people are comfortable talking about. But, in order for victims of family violence and sexual assault to receive intervention, there must be advocacy available in the community. Thank you for your compassion, dedication, friendship and all you do to help us offer assistance to those who need it most.Legal Services Provided
