- Activities: An Arent Fox partner since 1986, Van changed his status to counsel in February 2001, when he became president of the RLJ Companies, a diverse group of investment companies owned by Robert L. Johnson, the founder and CEO of Black Entertainment Television. In his capacity with The RLJ Companies, Van helps manage a portfolio of companies, including the holding company that owns the Charlotte Bobcats, the National Basketball Association franchise in Charlotte, North Carolina, and a real estate development company involved in the hospitality industry.
