Minor detail, major problem I used Tina in 10/2019 to buy my house. All seemed well, closing was delayed but that seems to happen to everyone. Two years later I get a letter in the mail from the county treasurer. It says I own or may have interest in a property that is subject to foreclosure for unpaid taxes in the year 2020!!! I call the treasurer and they explain that parcels had been combined and sometimes this causes an issue. They suggested I call my lawyer. Tina said she would get down to the bottom of it ASAP and call the tax assessor etc. Over a month later I had heard nothing so I visited the tax assessor myself. The two ladies in the office were very helpful and helped me gain a complete understanding of what went wrong. Taxes were only paid for one parcel of land in the first full year of ownership because no one let the mortgage company know they would appear separate until 2021 (at least for tax purposes). The first letter I had received about this was in October of 2021, they were sending all the alerts to the pervious owner. So penalties had accrued over 10 months. The tax assessor tried to speak with the treasurer on my behalf but they said I would still be responsible for the taxes plus all penalties. I called Tina’s office again, sent emails 2-3 times a week. Every once in a while someone would answer the phone and most of the time “Tina was out of the office.” I think I got 2 responses to about 25 emails. Ultimately taxes and penalties were due 1/31/22, I paid them by money order yesterday after hearing that Tina allegedly tried twice to speak with the treasurer and got negative responses both times. Each time there was supposed news I was not contacted. I had to keep contacting in every way I could to try to get info. I am very disappointed as the treasurer told me this whole situation falls on my lawyer who should have known that taxes would have been assessed separately for the first year and should have made sure the mortgage company knew as well.
