I am Simon Zhu, and I provide legal services in various compliance and regulatory affairs. My areas of service include constructing corporate compliance management systems, trade compliance and customs affairs, conducting corporate anti-bribery/anti-fraud investigations, ensuring compliance with export controls and economic sanctions, and managing data compliance.

Before joining the Dentons Shanghai Office, I worked as a customs officer for five years, where I gained enforcement experience in both pre- and post-processing trade supervision. During that time, I also supported cross-border customs work in Khorgos, Xinjiang for a year, focusing on the supervision of inbound and outbound transportation.

After leaving my position as a customs officer, I served as a consultant at the Asia-Pacific Model E-Port Network Operation Center (APMEN). There, I was involved in advancing trade facilitation and supply chain interconnection pilot projects, including those related to preferential tariffs under the Free Trade Agreement.

As an attorney, I have constructed compliance management systems and provided specialized legal services in compliance for over 90 central and state-owned enterprises. I have participated in several significant anti-fraud investigations and regulatory crises, and have assisted clients with compliance and rectification concerning multilateral banking sanctions.
