Samantha Smith
Aegis Law Firm
Since 2004, Ms. Smith has dedicated her practice to representing individuals - including employees and consumers - in complex litigation against some of America's largest companies. She has successfully fought for these plaintiffs in cases involving labor law (wage and hour) violations, consumer fraud, unfair competition, securities fraud, antitrust, asbestos exposure and defective products.
Prior to joining Aegis Law Firm, Ms. Smith worked with the Hon. Scott B. Cooper at The Cooper Law Firm prior to him being appointed to a judgeship with the Orange County Superior Court, where they represented employees and consumers in wage and hour and consumer class actions. Before working at The Cooper Law Firm, she represented clients in complex class actions at Scott+Scott and Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd. She has also worked as a legislative analyst at the California State Capitol.
She holds a degree in political science and public service from the University of California at Davis and completed her law degree at the University of California, Hastings College of Law. At Hastings, she received the Equal Justice America fellowship and advocated on behalf of women and children victimized by domestic violence, was also the recipient of the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence in legal writing and research, and served as a teaching assistant in legal writing for first-year law students.
In addition to her extensive litigation practice, Ms. Smith has taught at a business school nationally recognized as a top producer of minority degree earners, where she developed a curriculum for and lectured on business law at the graduate level and volunteered with graduate students on issues pertaining to tenants’ rights.
Ms. Smith represents clients both locally and nationwide. She is a member of the state bars of California and Tennessee. In her free time, Samantha enjoys doing yoga and spending time with her husband and two energetic boys.
