American Airlines Inc. Defended American Airlines in price fixing litigation As the news broke of multinational government investigations into price fixing in the air cargo industry in 2006, the class action plaintiffs' bar began filing treble damages lawsuits against many US and foreign airlines in various US courts. Weil Gotshal was retained to defend American Airlines Inc. and AMR Corp. in the investigations and in more than 38 private lawsuits initially naming them as parties. The Firm was successful in negotiating their not being named in the amended consolidated complaints filed in February 2007 by designated class counsel in the Eastern District of New York.
